I wanted to shake up my life and go sailing (or learn on the job, so-to-speak) so headed to Florida to crew on a catamaran. This is about how it went or, rather, didn't - and my life since. Hopefully it will lead to a catamaran on the clear aqua blue waters of the Caribbean Sea, watching the sunset, a coconut rum and coke in hand. You must START AT THE BEGINNING of the blog, April 2009, to get the whole story...

I LOVE FLIP FLOPS

In the ongoing attempt to make my mountain home feel more like a beach cottage, I made a summery wreath to hang on the gate at the entrance to my place.

I have since trimmed the big gerbera daisies down to the size of the other ones and it looks much better. I love the splash of colour it gives to an otherwise fairly monochromatic (green) scene.

    1. Hi Rod... before this post I posted about maybe giving up writing the blog as it's a fair bit of work and I wasn't sure I had the readership to justify the effort. I asked people to respond if they'd like to see the blog continue and I think I got 7 replies. So that told me what I needed to do. I miss writing in a way because it was like a journal for me where I could look back on all my adventures. Since I quit I have spent a month in the Dominican Republic and a month in Nashville TN... so still traveling. Just not documenting it anymore.

  3. Thank you for the update. I hadn't checked in on you in a while and wondered how you were doing. I hope all is well and that you are having many adventures. You deserve lots of fun for sharing all that you did with us.

    1. Thank you, I appreciate it! I might take this blog back up some day sooner than later as I really do miss having a log of my travels. Meanwhile, go take a look at my brand new FaceBook page called Sandy Beach Bum. I am trademarking the name and hope to turn it into something special in the future. Thanks again! x
